Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards is officially engaged to boyfriend Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The couple, who shares a 10-month-old son together, posted about the proposal on Instagram over the weekend.
Little Mix Star Perrie Edwards Gets Engaged
On Saturday, Edwards posted a series of photos from her engagement to Oxlade-Chamberlain. The couple is shown against a beautiful waterside sunset. In the first image, Oxlade-Chamberlain holds out the ring while on one knee. In the second, he puts the ring on Edwards’ finger. Finally, the last features them sharing a kiss.
Edwards also shared a close-up shot of the ring. In the caption, she wrote, “Last night the love of my life got down on one knee and I said… YES!” Meanwhile, Oxlade-Chamberlain shared his own set of photos, writing, “Mrs Oxlade-Chamberlain to be!”
The singer’s Little Mix bandmates shared their excitement in the comments of Edwards’ post. Leigh-Anne Pinnock wrote, “Best news! So happy for you both.” Jade Thirlwall reacted with a crying emoji.
Oxlade-Chamberlain is an English soccer player. He and Edwards have reportedly been dating since 2016. Last August, they welcomed a son together named Axel. Just days before, her bandmate Pinnock gave birth to twins.

Little Mix Is Taking a Break Starting This Year
Girl group Little Mix first became famous after winning The X Factor in 2011. Last year, they announced that they would be taking a break after their 2022 tour. The group was down to three members after Jesy Nelson left in 2020.
The final show of their Confetti Tour took place May 14 at London’s O2 Arena. The group livestreamed the performance for fans who couldn’t be there in person. Although Little Mix has emphasized that they are not breaking up, some fans are worried this is another One Direction situation.
One Direction, which was also formed on The X Factor, announced a hiatus in 2016 and have not gotten back together since. Interestingly, Perrie Edwards was previously engaged to One Direction member Zayn. They broke up in 2015, shortly before Zayn left One Direction.
